About Frey Software – the company behind RadioTutor
In May 2003,Frey Software
was founded as a sole trader business by Manuel Frey. Whilst the initial focus was on individual question sets, the emphasis gradually shifted towards the development of radio simulations for recreational boating. With great attention to detail, Manuel Frey and Alex Sautner developed the first version ofSRC
–Tutor
. The software was subsequently expanded to include LRC-Tutor

In early 2023, Mr Sautner left the company. At the same time, development began on the new internet-enabled version of the radio simulation. The development team was supplemented by several experienced freelancers.
Another major change occurred in July 2024 with the death of Thomas Frey. Until then, Mr Frey had looked after you as a customer for many years and was always the first point of contact for enquiries, orders and support. Since then, Manuel Frey has been your point of contact.
In May 2025, the time had finally come, and Frey Software was able to release the first beta version of the new web-based version. The whole development team is delighted to present this version to you. And you can rest assured that we have more than enough ideas for further development.
